How to package and sell freelance services

When you’re looking at starting a business, it can be tricky to work out exactly which services to offer, how much to charge and how to package them up.

Recently, I met up with Alison Grade, creative business trainer and freelance consultant, who shared some excellent tips on how webby folks such as myself could provide digital content strategy on a freelance or consultative basis.

I include this through nostalgia partly, but back in the dim, foggy midsts of time, by which I mean 2007, I took a job providing ‘creative industry’ support on behalf of UCE Birmingham Birmingham City University and whole number of funding bodies long since cut to ribbons. The one website that really introduced me to the local ‘creative scene’ was Created in Birmingham. The blog itself seems to have gone through peaks and troughs in popularity and quality as it was passed from blogger to blogger, but it still does a great job at simply sharing what’s going on, and what’s worth attending, in Birmingham’s arts and cultural sector.
