3 Creative Industry Blogs Worth Following

Looking to follow some media and creative industry blogs? No? Well, here are some suggestions anyway, yeah?

Created in Birmingham – arts, culture and creativity
I include this through nostalgia partly, but back in the dim, foggy midsts of time, by which I mean 2007, I took a job providing ‘creative industry’ support on behalf of UCE Birmingham Birmingham City University and whole number of funding bodies long since cut to ribbons. The one website that really introduced me to the local ‘creative scene’ was Created in Birmingham. The blog itself seems to have gone through peaks and troughs in popularity and quality as it was passed from blogger to blogger, but it still does a great job at simply sharing what’s going on, and what’s worth attending, in Birmingham’s arts and cultural sector.

Creative Boom Magazine
Another blog with humble beginnings, the creative industries blog/magazine now has “a monthly reach of more than 23 million, advertisers have included Adobe, Vimeo, Yahoo, Samsung and the UK government” according to its founder, Katy Cowan.

Dice Productions – Comedy, Animation and Writing

Not the best or worst blog, but a great example of how animation or creative businesses can combine a portfolio/business website with a blog. Some blog posts tend to be diary-style updates on what they’re doing, often featuring stills and clips, or just playlists of their favourite YouTube videos.
